My husband Jesper, my son Steffen and myself emigrated to Canada in August 2000.

I worked for 5 months as an Executive Assistant in a security/investigation company. I then did contract work from home, until November 2001.

In January 2002, I took a temporary assignment as the University of Calgary in the Faculty of Medicine, working in the Cancer Research department and realized that I wanted to work in the Faculty permanently, back in the health sector where I felt so much at home after my years in WHO. I am presently working in the Department of Community Health Sciences. It is a constant learning experience and I am gaining in knowledge and furthering my computer skills day by day. I have been on several courses and wish to continue with this as I am eager to learn and work with as many programs as possible.

During the long Winter months, we try to go out skiing almost every weekend. Our son has become a proficient snowboarder now. In September last year, I  took up weight training for the first time at the new local Recreation Centre. I have now become a member and try to get there 2-3 times a week, weight training on the machines and taking different fitness classes each time.  We have also joined the Calgary Tennis Club and hope to start playing tennis again on a regular basis. I have recently bought a bicycle and want to go out cycling in the huge parks in Calgary. I am also trying to find a good hiking club to join as I am determined to go into the mountains hiking at the weekends. We have always spent a great deal of our time gardening and developed quite a passion for it, but so far we have not started to landscape our garden in Calgary and have only a large grassed area. We have plans to build a waterfall, stream and pond overlooked from a gazebo from where we have a magnificent view of the mountains and so our gardening days will hopefully be back again soon.
